The social mores of the day forbade mainstream studios from producing anything that could be regarded as even vaguely obscene. This territory was left to independents who created a slew of schlock trash that shamelessly exploited their audiences fears and desires.
Apparently a lot of these trailers were made before the films themselves, which were often completed in less than a week.

Doctor,
wonderful blog. I get my daily fix here.
For the manic collectors among us: album covers would be sooo nice.
Thanks for the fish. May the schwartz be with you.
Shalala!

Dr:
What do I do when someone’s deleted my links in like, 4 days, like they hate me?
I think I’m being tracked, and someone hates the blog, and is deleting things unfairly.
The Wanda Jackson CD set was Out Of Print ,from 2001, any recommendations?
Watch out for these creeps.

my radio dj pard barry lee turned me onto this site and i’ll be giving alot of this stuff airplay because that’s what we community radio geeks do. check out moby’s trip at kkfi 90.1 fm–we stream therefore we is
dear Mojo Repair Shop
by the way i cannot leave a comment on your site itself as it seems blogger no longer allows wordpress users to verify their identity, otherwise i would have left this message there, i hope you get to see it
i too have had the thing where rapidshare deleted some files as is it’s policy if contacted by copyright holder, in my case it was touch and go records who it seems do that as policy and must have someone employed to search the net for these links cos it happens within days with their releases. i just removed the posts from my blog and just dont do their stuff anymore
dont get disheartened or be paranoid. Copyright is held on authorship of songs, it still exists if a particular record is out of print. If you research who owns the copyright on any recordings deleted like this i think you will discover who is behind it. Maybe it is just one record company
Cant help thinking more copyright holders will start getting this stuff deleted and try and stop what we do. I feel the smaller more open minded artists and labels realise that this is a form of free exposure to potential customers and that real music freaks will always prefer to own recorded product over mp3’s.
Mainstream radio is such drivel. If people are exposed to more music it’s only the majors who stand to lose out because what they produce is such a pile of middle of the road shit
Doc:
Thanks for the the thoughts. I don’t think it’s personal,I think it was rather quickly taken down, and my page number clicks really soared through the roof with the Wanda Jackson…but I always tell people to get it while you can. This whole thing could collapse in no time at all. Not to be glued to the screen people, but…
I wish their was a site that we could go to for bloggers to know that certain music labels are tough, about music posts…and are looking for people,as if we are committing a crime, when you know the people who complain probably downloaded things on the net for themselves. “complainers list”
I always thought these posts would keep their stupid names out there, and people would buy more music, after all, isn’t radio doing that? Radio doesn’t help the Touch and Go label…they are college radio fueled.
And radio is made to sell records, and make cash from commercial spots.
I know you might have bad radio in your area, but there’s always online radio, and subscription radio like XM and sirius radio for North America…but even that isn’t all that cool. I don’t even bother listening to “mainstream radio” anymore.
There are hundreds of podcasters too. Type in free podcasts and your style of music you dig and listen away.
Even I found that podcasters have trouble playing music that isn’t cleared by the bands and publishers. Gee, I can’t believe what a tight rope they put on their things, they strangle it . Makes you want to avoid their music in a way.
Makes you want to avoid buying Touch and Go product. But I still like The Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid, and Big Black…posting it would be unfortunate since the stuff is wildy out of print, and they do nothing about it.
Talk about losing money but not making it available to new fans…so who’s stupid and losing the money and blaming the bloggers!
There should be a blog that we could all go to, and read the latest victims of blogs shut down, and stuff to protect ourselves.
I know totally fuzzy does some of this. What would be a good name for this blog?
And what should it post? Think this is a good idea?
